AS therapy with Brainsolution |

| Via our neurologist we got to know a mother of a 10-year-old Angel. He listened very well and could play for hours by himself. He listened to music or played games. We were very impressed, and were wondering why he understood so much. His mother told us that she has been doing a program from Brain Solution since he was 3 years old. The institute is based in Great Britain and exists of 2 doctors, Helen and Mike Dowley.They originally come from South Africa. 3o years ago their son was born with a very seldom syndrome. The boy did not understand anything.He was helped by a special program that was only available in America. Written words taught the boy how to speak. They got so inspired by this special method that they started to develop this method and gave up their lives as vets. |  |
By now, they have treated a lot of kids with very different problems. They told us that AS kids are very special because they are actually pretty intelligent. It is only difficult to communicate with them.
Nina is following their program since October last year. They specially put it together for her. They look at kids individually. They observed her a whole day long, did specific exercises with her and asked us a lot of questions. The next day they had made a special program for her. It exists of different parts. The program I do daily with her takes about 2 to 3 hours. I do massages and exercises with her. The intelligence program is an important part. There I show her pictures of different objects, I tell her what it is and I show her the written word.
After half a year Nina recognised everything and pointed it out to me. It is important that the parents don’t test her. Only the therapist should do that. We were positively surprised by the result!
This is only one part of the program but I can tell you that Nina made progress on all different parts. And she is only 2,5 years old! We are very satisfied. Of course it is a lot of work and it demands a lot of discipline from the parents. This is not always easy but sooner or later you’ll be rewarded by the result!
There are a lot of good therapies around. Physiotherapy is one of them. But we, as parents, wanted to do something. We wanted an all-round therapy, and not just help her physically.
Unfortunately it is not cheap. But for us it was worth it. Now that she is still so small, we can stimulate her in her development and that is very important.
